Women's History Month: Pop-Up Gallery @ WAC by Ashley Ruiz

On March 3rd from 11AM to 1PM, Passaic County Community College held a Women’s History Month Pop-Up Gallery event at the Wanaque Academic Center. The event honored the start of Women’s History Month through art showcases, live music, and DIY activities. Food and light refreshments were available for attendees.

Multimedia art by female identifying students and staff at PCCC were showcased in honor of the celebration. Each artist had the opportunity to display their own unique stories of womanhood and culture through their artwork. The art showcase gave community members a glance into different perspectives of female identity. The pop-up gallery also featured learning opportunities for this year’s Women’s History month by displaying information on prominent female figures and their accomplishments.

Additionally, the PCCC Music Department provided open mic opportunities, welcoming students to showcase their musical and artistic talents through live performance. Activities such as DIY dream catchers and tote bags were also available for students to engage in. The pop-up event allowed the campus community to unite and celebrate the beginning of Women’s History Month by connecting through creativity and the arts.

Special thanks to CSE, SGA, and PCCC’s Music Department for making this event possible.
