On Wednesday, April 3rd, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, located in the Paterson Room on the Paterson Campus, the Office of Transfer Services and the Education Opportunity Fund (EOF) collaborated together to host the 1st of the 4 Transfer Fair events that will take place throughout the month of April.
Elizabeth Harrison, Director of Transfer Services, Military/Veteran Affairs, and Special Projects, along with Carolyn Jimenez, a Transfer Specialist in association with Ms. Harrison, was present at the time, extending their helping hand by providing PCCC students with access to information from various 4-year colleges, aiding them to getting the upper hand of their academic plan and helping create a smooth transition for education beyond the classrooms of Passaic County Community College.
4-year colleges like Caldwell University, The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Pace University, William Paterson University (WPU), East Stroudsburg University (ESU), Saint Peter’s University, and Berkeley College act as the foundation of the event, as tables were placed around the Paterson Room where each student can go around and ask the college transfer representatives at their respective tables for any information regarding the university they might potentially be interested in. Their presence brought insight into how PCCC students would want to continue their academic progress toward higher education and what direction they want to go.
In this event, one can see how certain universities might provide specific information for students to indulge in. Many of the universities that were present at the Transfer Fair shared a wide array of undergraduate programs any student can choose from. Most of the universities include Business, Healthcare, Justice Studies, Science, and different forms of the Arts as their best choice for any student at Passaic County Community College to choose from.
While many of these 4-year colleges might be strictly involved in institutionalized systems, like religious practice or in international relations, their doors are wide open for all incoming transfer and undergraduate students at Passaic County Community College.
In this way, students of Passaic County Community College can inform themselves of any services their selected university would have, the types of bachelor's degree programs they might offer, and enjoy the opportunities that might lie in their future at said university.
The next Transfer Fairs will take place on April 4th from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Paterson Room, April 11th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Paterson Room, and April 18th from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Paterson Room as well. If interested, please pay close attention to any events that might be happening within the Paterson Room, as one of them might be one of Ms. Harrison’s transfer fairs.
Missing out on these important dates might mean missing out on important information you need to have a wholesome transition to a 4-year college. Don’t miss out! Contact Elizabeth Harrison herself if you have any questions or head over to her office if necessary!
