Phi Theta Kappa - New-Member Orientation


On Tuesday, November 28th, in the Center for Leadership Excellence, Alpha Eta Chi – PCCC’s Phi Theta Kappa International Society (PTK), members Amal Akkad Wattar and Erick Vasquez hosted an insightful introductory New Member Orientation meeting explaining the rich experience and benefits of the inclusive honor society.


PTK is the most prestigious honor society for two-year colleges. It provides benefits such as Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Fellowship opportunities to enhance the college student experience.

PTK welcomes all to join as full or provisional members. Students must meet a minimum 3.5 GPA and twelve (12) college level credits and must be enrolled in a degree or certificate seeking program to qualify as a Full Member.


Those who are working towards the minimum requirement may join as a Provisional Member. PTK wards up to $90 million dollars every year that range from $500 - $2,500. PTK membership unlocks perks like Betterhelp, Travel Discounts, StudyBuddy.Live, Enterprise & National Car Rental, and GlobalFit just to name a few.


Additionally, PTK offers leadership opportunities by joining any of their project committee meetings that allow students to align with their personal interests. All are invited to attend their weekly meetings and events; visit the Center for Leadership Excellence in room A125 located at the back of the Paterson Main Campus Library.
