Reflecting on Welcome Week: A Successful Start!

Written/Images By: Natalia Bedoya

A new semester has officially begun!

We kicked things off with Welcome Week, and it was the perfect way for students to get to know their peers and enjoy college life.

We shared some great moments through activities like painting, decorating notebooks, and scrapbooking. After all, college should be about more than just classes and studying!

The SGA wanted to bring events to PCCC where students could mingle and chat without any pressure. Our goal was to provide a place where everyone could relieve the stress that naturally comes with the start of a new semester. It was wonderful to see many students relaxing and making new friends.

As SGA members, we value the opportunity to connect with the student body at the beginning of the year. It helps set a positive tone for the rest of the semester.

These events allowed new students to meet their student leaders face-to-face. We hope this encourages everyone to stay active and involved in everything the college has to offer.

In my opinion, college becomes a second home, and your peers become a second family. We hosted Welcome Week so that both new and returning students would feel like they belong here.

At a two-year college, it can be hard to build a community because time is short and classes are difficult. However, the SGA worked hard to create an environment where everyone felt welcome and accepted.

Welcome Week was more than just a kickoff; it was a way to let every student know they are not alone.

We hope everyone has a great semester. Let’s do this, Panthers!
