“The path of success is to take massive determined action.” -Tony Robbins
On the 5th of December, Passaic County Community College’s Men of Color Success Initiative held an event at the Paterson Room entitled: Rite of Passage 2024.
One of the AmeriCorps vistas; Gabriel Rivera worked heavily with EOF (Educational Opportunity Fund) and stated that MOCSI performs the Rite of Passage ceremony for the dedicated students of this year's fall semester.
Isaac Belgrave commented that the ceremony marks the closing of the semester and recognizes the hard work of the brothers who toughed it out. The organization emphasizes self-motivation and building a positive relationship with the brotherhood to lead to a bright future. It was really about recognizing those students for being valued as men of color here in the initiative. Anybody can get involved as a male-identifying student, but the initiative also welcomes any supporters. Female-identifying students have also attended past sessions and they offered valuable insight and appreciation because of the different perspectives of those around us!
