The Paterson Room was decorated with festive banners on Thursday, October 9, as the B2B (Bridges to Baccalaureate) Club welcomed students to its "From Roots to Rise" event. The celebration, focused on "culture, community, and student leadership", brought together new and returning members for an afternoon of presentations, food, and networking.
Following opening remarks, the new B2B officer team —including President Judith Hilares, Vice President Janet Hilares, Secretary Ismeily Figueroa, and Membership Coordinator Nathan McCracken— gave a main presentation on the club's overview. They introduced the full roster of officers and outlined their mission to provide a "safe and welcoming space" and "bridge the gap" for students moving from an associate's degree to a baccalaureate program.

The centerpiece of the event was the "Commitment Ceremony" to formally install the new leadership. This included a symbolic "Planting Seeds" segment and the "Officers' Pinning Ceremony" —featuring a "Tree of Life" necklace— which was met with hugs and applause from advisors and members.

Guests had the chance to enjoy a wide spread of Peruvian Arroz Chaufa; Tequeños; ham, turkey, and vegetable sandwiches, chips, and nachos while connecting with fellow students and faculty.
Club officers and advisors also took time to express their gratitude to the guests, who received thank-you bags, which contained a B2B Club sticker and a star-shaped plaque, as a token of appreciation for their attendance.
The event also featured a raffle for gift bags and fun prompts for attendees. Several students took to the podium to share their majors and dream vacations —ranging from Italy to Japan— fostering a relaxed and communal atmosphere.
At the end of the event, all attendees gathered for a final team picture. For those interested in engaging with the B2B Club, you can follow their Instagram @PCCC_B2BCLUB to learn more about them and get information on upcoming events.
