PCCC’s annual Students vs. Staff basketball game on Tuesday, November 4th, delivered a night of school spirit, which came to an end with a decisive victory for the student body. The final score settled at 69 to 41, proving that the students outgrow the masters.
The Gym had a total of 70 attendees, and the energy was amplified by a showcase of creative posters. Signs declaring everything from “Staff Rules, Students Drool” to “99 Problems but Staff Ain’t One” showed that the rivalry was all in good fun.

The People’s Choice
Before the game, a poll on the @pcccpanthers Instagram story asked panthers to predict a winner. The student team was the unanimous favorite, with a clean 100% of the vote.
We asked a few spectators in the stands for their pre-game analysis:
A confident student stated, “I think the PCCC students are going to win today, the other team is full of old people.”
A hopeful staff supporter stated “The team that I believe is going to win is the staff because they have more experience, and they’re going to teach a lesson to the students that they are the masters.”
Game Highlights: A Tale of Two Halves
The first three quarters showcased a tight and competitive game, with the staff holding their own. However, the final quarter the student team locked in with a standout performance from one student who brought the crowd to its feet with three dunks (GREEN).
The staff’s determination was clear, but by the final buzzer, it was clear that age and gravity are undefeated. The sight of a staff member applying an ice pack to their joints post-game was a testament to the effort they left on the court.
Our President, Dr. Rose, was in attendance for the entire game, witnessing the friendly rivalry firsthand.
“It is a competitive game. The energy in the room is great,” – Dr. Rose, PCCC President.
Post-Game Reactions: The Winners and The Warriors
We caught up with players from both sides after the game to get their thoughts.
The Victorious Students:
“We expected this, we've been expecting this, staff couldn’t mess with us, and you know we just executed.”
“I feel good, I feel like we played really good, we played together, and we played really confidently."

The Valiant Staff:
“You know what, it was a tough game out there, very competitive, very spirited, a great game and great environment, and next year we’ll come back better and stronger.”
“It was a good first effort. We’ve done this for the first time in a long time, and we have a goal for next time. ”
The game was a showcase of PCCC’s community spirit, proving that a little competition is a great way to bring everyone together.
